Growing up, most of my family vacations were just my mom, my sister, and me, while my dad stayed behind to keep the family business running. Later in life, I married into a family business, and my (now ex) husband often had to miss out on family time as well. Both my mother and mother-in-law worked as bookkeepers for their family businesses, yet they weren’t always able to plan for their own financial futures.
These experiences have fueled my passion for bookkeeping. I want to ensure that family business owners don’t have to choose between their work and their loved ones. My goal is to help you build a financially secure business that lets you focus on what truly matters—both today and in the long term.
My professional career has provided many opportunities to work in different roles that can be grouped into four categories such as bookkeeping, training employees, working with community groups, and in supervisory roles.
Bookkeeping taught me maintaining records of expenses and revenues can be a key to business longevity. For that reason, details do matter and accurate documentation is critical to a financially healthy business. I enjoy figuring out the problem when things do not balance, doing the research, checking everything again and the overall investigation to find the errors!
For employees, I created written procedure manuals to standardize procedures among team members, revised the training standards for new employees that reflect their new duties and what the expectations are, and training manuals for industry specific software. I also developed in-service training, new employee orientations and scheduled employees for off-site training courses.
I learned from the community groups that I have been involved with the value and power of a team to make lives and situations better. Bringing together individual experts can create a well-balanced team that can address multiple issues.
In my supervisory roles, I was able to bring my previous experiences together to supervise and coach others. One of the tasks I had as a supervisor was to provide statistical reports based on gathered data to show trends, changes, cumulative numbers by locations, individuals, and groups. The reports provided information for internal use, for other departments and the public containing critical operational information that had to be accurate and supported by data.
Overall, my professional experiences have taught me to make sound decisions and solve problems based on facts, research, analysis, and confidentiality of the information. I provide accurate and objective documentation looking for long term solutions. The multifaceted experiences I have has provided reliable and trusted service to those I work with.
My mission is to provide modern bookkeeping services to my business partners bringing financial balance into their lives.
My values have always guided me in my professional and personal life.
Honesty – Always conducting myself in a truthful and ethical manner
Integrity – Doing the right thing
Reliability – Being dependable and consistent in my actions
Creativity – Thinking outside of the box to solve problems and make decisions
Initiative – Seeing what needs to be done and getting it done

When I was around 10 years old, I started making clothes for my dolls, leading to a lifetime of sewing, be that needle crafts, home decoration projects, clothing, or quilting. I love the creative process and customizing these projects to make them uniquely mine.
Tracing my family genealogy began shortly after my grandparents died many years ago when I became the recipient of THE box of unidentified photographs and letters dated back to the nineteenth century. This journey of discovery did ultimately identify most of the pictures and letters and so much more. I found some surprises but nothing earth-shattering. But what I did find are ancestors going back many generations that I am proud to have descended from. Their lives, challenges and accomplishments have truly inspired my life and how I try to live it.
I love reading and feel that literacy is a core foundation everyone should have the opportunity to learn. For this reason, I volunteered as a reading tutor at a local elementary school during the school year. I looked forward each week to meeting with my student for our reading time.
My two grown children who, with their spouses, have given me five beautiful grandchildren that bring so much love, fun, pride, and joy to my life.
I share my home with my cat Winnie, who seems to think she my business partner!
Keeping your work and life in balance
Whether it’s quilting or bookkeeping, I bring the same level of care, precision, and patience to everything I create. The Smokehouse quilt, a five-year labor of love, is a testament to my commitment to craftsmanship and detail. Every stitch, color choice, and pattern was thoughtfully considered, much like every entry and calculation in bookkeeping. Just as a quilt comes together piece by piece, a strong financial foundation is built on meticulous attention to every detail. This is the dedication I bring to both my art and my work.
